The jubilee 20th SFF starts tonight

With the screening of three films at three locations "Amores Perros" (Open Air), "Bridges of Sarajevo" (National Theatre) and "Of Horses and Men" (Meeting Point), the 20th jubilee Sarajevo Film Festival will open, writes the BH news agency Patria.

A ceremonial reception for dignitaries and guests begins at 9:15 PM at the National Theatre Sarajevo, and the opening of the 20th SFF will be broadcast by BHT1.

Over nine days, the 20th SFF will present 247 works in 19 sections from all over the world. Mexican actor Gael Garcia Bernal will be the first guest to be welcomed by the audience of this year's Sarajevo Film Festival. More than 3,000 viewers will welcome Bernal on stage before the screening of the cult film "Amores Perros". Tonight, Bernal and designer and director Agnes B. will also be presented with the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo awards.

In the following days, until August 23, numerous audiences of the Sarajevo Film Festival will be introduced to international guests, including winners of prestigious awards at world film festivals in Cannes, Berlin, Venice...

Among the guests of the 20th SFF will be as many as three Oscar winners. Director Michel Hazanavicius will present the film "The Search". Bosnian-Herzegovinian director Danis Tanović is also a recipient of the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo, and actress Melissa Leo is an Oscar winner for her role as a mother in the film "The Fighter", which will be screened.

Leading world media have accredited their journalistic teams for this year's SFF. Dozens of journalists and photojournalists from Sarajevo, from BiH, will send a more beautiful image to the world during these nine festival days.
