Date for Srebrenica resolution vote not yet set

(Patria) - There is still no date for the UN General Assembly session where member states are to vote on the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica. Tomorrow, a session dedicated to the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina will be held, which is a regular six-month session, where Christian Schmidt will present a report.

Ivica Puljić, a long-time correspondent for Al Jazeera from the USA, confirmed on his X account that a meeting was held at the UN and that the date for voting on the Srebrenica resolution has not been set, "although it was expected".

- Maybe it will be the 16th, maybe the next day. They are waiting for the Montenegrin first amendment on individual guilt to be officially introduced as an addendum to the draft. The second amendment is dropped. New meeting tomorrow - Puljić stated.

The first amendment from Montenegro reads: "... reiterating that guilt for the crime of genocide is individualized, and cannot be attributed to any ethnic, religious, or other group or community as a whole..."

The second amendment reads: "... reaffirming the inviolability of the General Framework Agreement for Peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina in all its provisions..."
