No requests yet for National Assembly session on unblocking and return of RS representatives to BiH institutions

(Patria) - Following a meeting between SNSD President and BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and his plea for RS representatives to return to work in BiH institutions, a session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) to make such a decision has not yet been scheduled.

NSRS President Nedeljko Čubrilović confirmed today that no request for a special session has been received.

“I think there will be a regular session. You know that according to the rules of procedure, the parliamentary recess is still in effect, and as soon as that request arrives, we will certainly have the opportunity to convene the collegium and decide on the date for holding a special or regular session. I believe it will be a regular one,” Čubrilović said.

We remind you that on July 30, 2021, at a special session of the NSRS, a conclusion was adopted, supported by parties forming the government as well as opposition parties, stating that they would not participate in the work of BiH institutions (BiH Presidency, Council of Ministers of BiH, Parliamentary Assembly of BiH), due to imposed amendments to the Criminal Code of BiH which prohibit and punish the denial of genocide, and the glorification of war criminals and crimes finally judged by international and domestic courts.

However, although that conclusion left open the possibility of making decisions in cases where participation is necessary to prevent decisions contrary to the interests of Republika Srpska until the issue of the imposed law is resolved, it seems that the SNSD representatives themselves have violated this conclusion.

Thus, certain agreements in the BiH Presidency were detrimental to RS due to Dodik's voting against certain decisions, as BiH was left without money from projects for several hospitals in both RS and FBiH.
