Another day of unsuccessful search for those missing in the swollen Jala River

(Patria) - Unfortunately, the search of the terrain yielded no results today either, despite calmer weather conditions and a large number of members who joined the competent services.

- The search will continue tomorrow, but on a smaller scale than today - announced the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton, Adnana Sprečić.

According to her, teams from the Special Support Police Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton will be on the ground tomorrow, and a new plan for further activities will be made after a detailed analysis of the activities already undertaken.

A total of nine days have passed since a police officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton and another man went missing in the swollen Jala River.

A search has been continuously conducted since the day they went missing, however, it has been unsuccessful so far.

The search has been conducted without interruption since the first day, and it involves members of the Federal Civil Protection Administration, the Mountain Rescue Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tuzla Canton, firefighters, as well as numerous volunteers.

Intense rainfall in previous days complicated the search of the area, and the more stable weather that marked today gave hope for a different outcome of the search. However, today also passed without results.

All competent services are performing their duties, and a large number of citizens have expressed their willingness to help in order to end the search sooner.

We remind you that the unfortunate incident occurred when a man fleeing from the police jumped into the Jala, and after him, to save him, three other police officers.

Two were rescued with the help of citizens, while one police officer and the escaped man disappeared in the swollen river, and all traces of them have been lost since then.
