Jonathan Moore leads OSCE delegation at commemoration of Roma Holocaust Remembrance Day

A delegation of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, led by Mission Head Ambassador Jonathan Moore, will attend today's commemoration of the International Roma Holocaust Remembrance Day in Donja Gradina, the OSCE announced, as reported by the Patria agency.

On 15 April 2015, the European Parliament called for greater efforts to end discrimination, hate crimes and hate speech against Roma.

The European Parliament then decided that 2 August would be commemorated as Roma Holocaust Remembrance Day.

It is estimated that about half a million Roma were killed during World War II.

The Nazi attempt to exterminate this people is often referred to in history as the unnoticed or forgotten Holocaust.
