SARAJEVO, (Patria) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that British families should be prepared for the loss of their loved ones due to the spread of coronavirus.
Addressing reporters, Johnson announced additional measures to combat the COVID-19 epidemic, including timely self-isolation.
The Prime Minister advised everyone with a persistent cough or high fever to self-isolate for seven days, reports Index.hr.
School trips abroad will be banned in the country from tomorrow, and the elderly and those with pre-existing health conditions have been told not to go on cruises.
"To be clear, this is the worst public health crisis of a generation. Some compare the infection with the new strain of coronavirus to seasonal flu, but that is not true at all," the Prime Minister warned.
"I must be honest with you, with the British citizens, many families will lose their loved ones prematurely," he added.
Britain's chief scientific advisor Patrick Vallance said today that he believes between 5,000 and 10,000 people are most likely infected in Great Britain.
