Scientists explain that the reason for this is that its source is at an altitude of 1,227 meters, below Mount Jabuka, which is part of Zelengora, and therefore it has earned the title of the coldest river in the world.

The Neretva, in its approximately 230 kilometers of flow through Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia to the Adriatic Sea, increases its temperature, and the hot shores of one of the warmest cities in Europe - Mostar - greatly help with this.
