Jerlagić at the commemoration of the anniversary of the closure of the Sušica camp

At the invitation of the Association of Camp Inmates of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the President of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Amer Jerlagić, along with associates, attended the commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the closure of the Sušica camp in the Vlasenica barracks, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

In his address, Jerlagić said that the International Court in The Hague and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina have handed down sentences for crimes in BiH totaling over 2,500 years in prison for those who created such and similar camps and in them, in the most brutal manner, tortured, humiliated, abused, and killed innocent civilians.

Unfortunately, over 70,000 camp inmates have still not resolved their legal status to this day, because the Law on the Rights of Torture Victims was never enacted.

On the eve of the International Day of Peace on September 21, Jerlagić emphasized that the horrors of torture should never be forgotten, while also appealing to all people in the world to contribute to peace and do everything to ensure that the wartime horrors of abuse and killing never happen again.
