Jelisaveta Seka Sablić: Queen of Comedy in Hit Series Stižu dolari

They don't have dollars, but they have a rich uncle who is just arriving from America. And it's up to his dear fellow citizens to be imaginative and devise the most original schemes to profit from the unfortunate Gorčilo, unaware that bitter hardship from poverty forced him to return to his homeland, in short, that is the plot of the new Serbian comedy series which will air on TV1, from January 9th, Monday to Friday at 9 PM, reports the Patria news agency.  

The series features an established cast without whom the comedy would not bring so much humor and entertainment.

In the role of the unfortunate Gorčilo is the famous Serbian actor Aleksandar Berček, who has played in over 40 films in his career, as well as numerous theater performances. In 1980, he won the Golden Arena for his role as Miško in the film Who's Singin' Over There? One of the more notable female roles in the series, the role of Magdalena, wife of local mafia boss Gušter, is played by the queen of domestic comedy, Jelisaveta Seka Sablić. Other, no less unusual and charming, characters are played by also well-known names of the Serbian acting scene: Mirjana Karanović, Petar Kralj, Milenko Zablaćanski, Nela Mihailović, and Dragan Jovanović.

The plot of this popular comedy series, which brings a smile back to viewers' faces in front of small screens, begins when Nenad Neša Ljutić, owner of the tavern Lovačka priča, located in a small town in the interior of Serbia, is contacted by his uncle Gorčilo from America, announcing his imminent return to Serbia, driven by a desire to spend his last years at his hearth. Neša, his wife Živana, brother Peša, and father Aleksandar let their imaginations run wild and make plans about what they will do with the dollars the rich uncle will bring with him.

Soon the whole town finds out about the uncle, so everyone schemes a way to profit from the wealthy fellow citizen, including the local mafia boss Gušter, the corrupt municipal president, and the newly rich Elizabeta. What none of them suspect is that Gorčilo has gone bankrupt and is returning to Serbia without a dime. At the same time, a young municipal clerk decides to expose the president and his shady dealings, and another storyline of the series follows his love affair with the young secretary Marina. An excellent mix of schemes and intrigues, with indispensable humor, in this series promises viewers guaranteed entertainment.
