Jelena Trivić will be the candidate for the President of RS

(Patria) - Jelena Trivić will be the candidate of PDP, i.e., the opposition which also includes SDS, for the President of Republika Srpska, it was confirmed at today's press conference after the session of the PDP Presidency.

The President of PDP, Branislav Borenović, said that Trivić is a dedicated, serious, and very responsible person.

"Jelena is an honest and decent person who loves Republika Srpska. All members of PDP, as well as citizens, participated in determining such an important candidacy," said Borenović, who is confident that she will win and have great support from the citizens.

A member of the PDP Presidency and the Mayor of Banja Luka, Draško Stanivuković, said that for years, he and Jelena, along with their comrades, have stood on the defense of true values, freedom, and the right for every citizen here to have a better life, both in Banja Luka and in Republika Srpska.

"As Jelena's comrade in the fight against a perverted regime, I can say that I am proud that we have both rejected the opportunity to change things for the better, after years of pointing out numerous anomalies in society, uncovering scandals, organizing numerous protests with citizens, and fighting battles with the regime that has destroyed this nation for 20 years. I hope that from different fronts, we will again fight common battles, with the same goal – a better life for our citizens," Stanivuković stated.

With words of gratitude, Jelena Trivić said that the candidacy is an honor and a privilege, as well as a great obligation and responsibility.

"My priority will be the fight against corruption... Crime and corruption have eaten away at and destroyed the lives of the people and our entire families in Republika Srpska. Corruption has enabled a minority to become enormously wealthy, and for the vast majority of decent and hardworking people, corruption has paved the way to poverty and departure from our Republika Srpska. I will work for a better and more successful Republika Srpska," said Trivić, stating that she will not conduct a dirty campaign but will fight with arguments for a better and more successful Republika Srpska.

She said that one can expect a continuation of her sincere and just political struggle.

"I will conduct a bright and cheerful campaign, a campaign of programs, not a campaign of dirt. I play fair and win by playing fair," said Trivić.

She has been an active member of the Party of Democratic Progress since February 2016 and is a member of the current National Assembly.

She is married and the mother of two sons.

She speaks English and Italian fluently.
