A Cheap Story About Totalitarian Ideologies

Is there any branch that Bosniaks have sat on and not cut down in the meantime? These days, there is too much talk about totalitarian ideologies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. How much sense does that story make when it comes to Bosniaks, the greatest victims of totalitarian ideologies and Greater-state projects from neighboring countries and the neighborhood. Did that nation, with terrible sacrifices, not defend itself from the Chetnik and Ustasha ideologies of crime? Calling on Bosniaks to settle scores with totalitarian ideologies within their own nation is schizophrenic.

As if Bosniaks were killed by leftists, not by Chetniks and Ustashas by name and surname. SDA was and remains a combination of half-hearted Islamic and communist heritage. True, the fewest members of the League of Communists of BiH were among the Bosniak corps, far more among Serbs and Croats. But even in SDA, there are too many who changed their jerseys from the then League of Communists of BiH, and today accuse the left within their nation of being totalitarian.

Even the former SDA leader Sulejman Tihić was a member of the SKBiH. The story of totalitarian ideologies within the Bosniak corps is meaningless. It looks like spoiled goods, imported from neighboring Croatia. HDZ and SNSD are full of party secretaries. Starting with Dragan Čović, who was a member of the SK while working at the Soko company's tool shop. But, this is not surprising if one knows that 97,000 members of the League of Communists of Croatia joined the HDZ.

Lustration is impossible to carry out in Balkan countries because it would lead to complete political desolation. There are plenty of converts in every nation. Perhaps instead of the issue of lustration, the political life should at least introduce a law that every politician is obliged to list all the parties through which they have passed to positions.

If we look at the human side, it is clear that neither nations nor parties teach anyone honesty. All good things a person brings from their home and from their parents. Corruption is not a matter of nationality, so we are all suffocating from misery among "our own" thieves. Caring for one's own honor has no connection with totalitarian ideologies. The vast majority of Bosniaks do not want membership in SDA, although it offers privileges, jobs, and opens many doors for a comfortable life. The same applies to all other national and other parties.

Let them count the assets of those they appoint to positions in SDA and compare it all at the end of their term. We have not received such reports and never will.

What would have happened without the Bosniak officers from the totalitarian regime, who knew their job and military science. These days, people are talking about national heroes. Rahmetli Izet Nanić, Hajrudin Mešić, Enver Šehović, Adil Bešić, Nesib Malkić. All former JNA officers. What would have happened without rahmetli Rašid Žižić, Enver Pamukčić, Miralem Juga, and the living Atif Dudaković, Ibrahim Dervišević, and hundreds of others who stood in defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and who came from the totalitarian regime and the hated JNA.

What about the fact that the supposedly "totalitarian regime" was established on ZAVNOBiH, the last confirmation of BiH's statehood? What about all the Muslim brigades and fighters against fascism in World War II? Are we inheriting anything from our own history? It would be crazy to see where this fight against totalitarian ideologies is leading. This is the original story of those who glorify Chetniks and Ustashas. A primitive idea is being pushed onto Bosniaks, for which they will again be presented with a considerable bill. Bosniaks must know that the rehabilitation of both Chetnik and Ustasha movements will not last long and that it will all collapse along with the primitive rule of some miserable political minds.

The essence is that behind all this noise and fury is SDA's cheap opposition to the Bosnian left. If we defended Bosnia and Herzegovina, we must also defend the idea of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Who is credible? Those who remained among the leftists, retained their principles and original positions, or those who defected to become national defenders. Who can be trusted not to betray? And must we always tear our roots and cut the tree we are sitting on?
