One-time aid for 11 mothers in Centar

Assistant Head of Centar Municipality for Labour, Health and Social Affairs Osmo Babić handed out one-time financial aid to 11 mothers from the central Sarajevo municipality on March 10th at the Municipality. Six mothers received 300 KM each for the birth of their first child, and five mothers received 500 KM each for the birth of their third child, reports the Patria News Agency.

- At the proposal of the municipal mayor Dževad Bećirević and with the support of the Centar Municipal Council, this social project was launched three years ago with the aim of improving the birth rate in our municipality.

As stipulated by the regulations on awarding this aid to mothers, mothers who are not employed and who are entitled to child benefits are eligible for one-time aid in the amount of 300 KM, while mothers who give birth to a third and every subsequent child are entitled to aid in the amount of 500 KM if the total income of their household does not exceed the average salary in the Federation for the previous year – said Babić.

One of the beneficiaries of this type of aid is Selma Hadžalić, who recently had her third child.

- I live with my husband Adnan and children Adna, Muamer and Šemsa. Since no one in our family has permanent employment, this aid is welcome.

We plan to use this money to buy equipment and food for the baby and some things for the other two children. The Centar Municipality has always helped me as much as it could to survive more easily with my family, for which I am especially grateful to Mayor Bećirević and the Service for Labour and Social Affairs – said Selma.

In the budget of the Centar Municipality for this year, an amount of 40,000 KM has been allocated for one-time financial donations to mothers in need, which is implemented by the municipal Service for Labour, Health and Social Affairs, it was announced from the Centar Municipality.
