Rusmir Mesihović appointed Director of KCUS by unanimous decision

At today's session of the Management Board of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, Prof. Dr. Rusmir Mesihović was unanimously elected as the new director, the Patria News Agency has learned. 

Mesihović, the current Federal Minister of Health, has extensive political, professional, and scientific experience, and it is expected that KCUS, after years of decline, which has most affected the citizens, will finally become a renowned clinical center like those in all European capitals. 

Following numerous scandals that have shaken KCUS, as well as disputes and animosity among employees, according to some members of the Management Board, Mesihović was chosen as the best solution for calming tensions and returning KCUS to its former "glory days". 

From the biography 

Rusmir Mesihović was born in 1964 in Sarajevo, where he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, where he also completed his specialization and obtained his doctorate in 2002. 

After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine in 1988, he was employed at the Clinic for Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS). At the Sarajevo Faculty of Medicine, where he still teaches, he progressed from assistant to full professor. At KCUS, from 2003 to 2011, he held the positions of head and deputy head at several clinics and departments.
