SDP, NiP and NS call on SDA to confirm sincerity of intentions with actions

(Patria) - Regarding the latest statement by the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), which calls on pro-Bosnian parties to unite due to recent attacks on the sovereignty and political independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, People and Justice, and Our Party call on the SDA to confirm the sincerity of their intentions with concrete actions by distancing themselves from their own past actions that have significantly contributed to the extent of the crisis the country is in.

- We believe that at the current moment, acting to curb the crisis and returning decision-making processes to the institutions of the system should not be confined to the framework of the Federation of BiH. We are convinced that the key to resolving the current situation, which threatens to lead the country and its citizens into even deeper chaos, misfortune, despair, and poverty, lies in cooperation with political entities based in the Bosnian administrative unit of RS.

This applies to those parties that have shown a sufficient level of responsibility for the future of their children and have opposed the rush of SNSD and Milorad Dodik into an adventure with devastating consequences for all citizens of the country, especially those from the RS entity. Excluding these entities from discussions about finding solutions for the current situation can only deepen and confirm divisions and strengthen the positions of Milorad Dodik and his allies.

As for the actions of parties that are not part of the majority at the state level, and which advocate for the protection of the unity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have all already shown unity and coordination by signing a set of conclusions that clearly define the principles of action and political priorities at the current moment. We will not abandon these conclusions. The unblocking of institutions and the return of decision-making to the institutions of the system have no alternative.

The SDA, with its votes, enabled the SNSD and HDZ BiH to have a total majority, i.e., control over 8 out of 15 members of the House of Peoples of BiH. Without the SDA's support, neither the SNSD nor the HDZ would have control over entity voting in that house, and the combination of these two factors gives them absolute power to block anything they want at the state level, and even to adopt it in the House of Peoples itself.

This balance of power has largely contributed to these two parties using the gifted power to undermine the state and block all processes.

Therefore, we want to clearly emphasize that the undeniable attack on the constitutional order, the Dayton Peace Agreement, the territorial integrity, and the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina by the SDA's partners, and the current situation in the country, have been significantly contributed to by the SDA itself through its actions.

Therefore, it seems somewhat naive for the SDA to call on other political parties to share responsibility for their mistakes. Does this mean we should grant them amnesty for their wrong policies, evident crime, and corruption that is happening under their auspices? As the opposition, we will stand behind the principles of building the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and strengthening its institutions, and no one needs to call us to do so - it is stated in the joint statement of the 'trio'.
