Unity of Leaders and Collapse of Parliamentary Life in FBiH

The presidents of the ruling parties in FBiH claim that the SDA-SBB and HDZ BiH coalition is more stable than ever. And that they will turn the Federation into the largest construction site in the Balkans in the next two years, writes Patria.

Analysts do not think so. They believe that the situation in FBiH is not nearly as rosy as presented by Bakir Izetbegović, Fahrudin Radončić, and Dragan Čović. Citizens are actually hostages to their disagreements. For more than a year since they have been in power, the coalition partners have not started a single infrastructure project. Although they announce them daily.

The Federal Parliament has not been functioning for more than two months. The last session of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament was held on July 13. At that time, the deputies of SDA and SBB outvoted the deputies of HDZ BiH and adopted the Law on Games of Chance. All the cracks in this coalition were seen in this law, as well as in the law on veterans.

Due to this law, the session of the House of Peoples in FBiH was also interrupted yesterday. Neither of the two houses of the FBiH Parliament will be held again until October 2, but only after the Local Elections in BiH are held. All in all, the highest legislative authority in FBiH has not been functioning for almost the entire summer.

Opposition representative in the House of Representatives, Mahir Mešalić, told Patria that while the Federation of BiH lacks legislative authority, the FBiH Government is selling state property. Ministers and the prime minister are not accountable to anyone for this. On Thursday, property of 'FDS' worth around 300 million KM was sold for 42 million KM. The government announces the sale of shares in 'Bosnalijek' as well as in 'Sarajevo-osiguranje'.

SDP delegate in the House of Peoples of FBiH, Aner Žuljević, warned yesterday that Fadil Novalić's Government took a loan from the IMF, thus indebting the citizens of FBiH, without getting the consent of the FBiH Parliament. This is a violation of the FBiH Constitution.

- This is about arbitrariness, for which someone will have to answer - warned Žuljević.

Fahrudin Radončić calls Dragan Čović his true friend, whom he cannot forget for visiting him in detention. Izetbegović also forgave him and decided to strongly support him. Čović and Izetbegović present Radončić as a strong engine in FBiH.

But the fact remains that parliamentary life will die out until the elections, while the leaders are very cooperative and functional among themselves. They seem to be the only true coalition partners, who, despite the desperate situation in the Federation, praise their mutual cooperation. "In unity there is falsehood," could be ironically commented.
