Bosnia and Herzegovina Armed Forces Unit in Slovenia Declared Most Productive

(Patria) - A temporary unit of the BiH Armed Forces, which has been on a humanitarian mission since August 14, 2023, assisting the civilian population affected by the recent floods in Slovenia, has recently been declared the most productive unit in the mission.



The unit is engaged in the reconstruction of the Meža Riverbed in the municipality of Prevalje and has recently been reinforced with engineering machinery.

Through their selfless commitment, they have gained the trust and support of the local population, civil authorities, and colleagues from other countries.

After representatives of the local community, who manage the Meža River, inspected the completed work on a section of the riverbed outside the area of engagement of our temporary Unit, they exclusively requested the involvement of our members for the complete finalization of the work, due to exceptional trust.

In accordance with the rules for the use of resources in this humanitarian mission, the temporary unit of the BiH Armed Forces is also engaged in the remaining activities related to the arrangement of the Meža Riverbed, which have been successfully completed, to mutual satisfaction.

The most responsible representatives of the civil authorities in Slovenia have expressed a high degree of gratitude and respect towards our members.

H.E. the Ambassador of Slovenia to BiH Sedar Damja, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Ravne na Koroškem Erjavec Andrej, and the Director of Civil Protection of this municipality Kaker Branko organized a reception for the members of our Unit on August 27, 2023.

On that occasion, the officials thanked and recognized all members of the temporary unit of the BiH Armed Forces for their exceptional dedication and selfless contribution to assisting the population affected by the floods.
