One of Dodik's Most Influential Advisors: Lajčak Removed Former SDB Officer Ćeranić from OSA

Predrag Ćeranić was appointed in April 2015 as an advisor to the Minister of the RS Ministry of Interior Dragan Lukač, thereby becoming the informal head of the para-intelligence agency of RS President Milorad Dodik, which was formed within the Anti-Terrorism and Extremism Directorate of the RS MUP, writes Patria.

Two years ago, Slobodan Vasković also wrote about Ćeranić on his blog.

Vasković wrote at the time:

- Ćeranić is, although incapable of any professional work, an extremely dangerous person, prone to all kinds of filth, slander, and even much more serious things.

As a student, he was recruited to work in the State Security Service (DB) of the then SFRY, and his code name was Slavuj. He was handled by Zlatan Ramić, an operative of the then SDB Sarajevo.

He spent the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Ilidža and Lukavica, and Vasković wrote that he had very close ties with the Croatian Intelligence Service at that time.

During the split in the political leadership of the RS and SDS in 1997, Ćeranić took advantage of the situation and almost became the head of the then DB of Republika Srpska. He supported Biljana Plavšić at the time, but soon came into conflict with Milovan Stanković and Sredoje Nović, who held top positions in the RS MUP and DB RS during the first prime ministerial term of Milorad Dodik.

Stanković and Nović removed Ćeranić, and he has been in constant conflict with Nović ever since.

After the formation of OSA, Ćeranić briefly held a position in this intelligence agency. On May 30, 2008, then High Representative Miroslav Lajčak banned Ćeranić from working in OSA and in political organizations due to allegations that he was a member of a network of Hague indictees.

Ćeranić denied all this, citing his close ties with foreign intelligence services, and even his work on capturing Hague indictees.
