Has the Bosnian side given up on the 419 million dollars of Hidrogradnja's money in Iraq?

More than 400 million dollars is owed by the Government of Iraq to the Bosnian construction company Hidrogradnja, in which bankruptcy proceedings were initiated in October last year due to company losses. Patria is in possession of documentation showing that the Government of Iraq owes Hidrogradnja 419 million dollars (approximately 769 million BAM). The report was prepared by a United Nations commission. The Government of Iraq does not deny the existence of this debt.

Collecting the debt from the Government of Iraq would not only solve Hidrogradnja's problems but could also serve as a strong financial support for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Hidrogradnja worked on projects in Iraq involving the construction of three dams: Haditha, Hemren, and Bekhmen. During the war in Iraq from 1991 to 1993, the assets of the Bosnian construction company were destroyed. Part of the debt was collected from the Iraqi side, while the debt of 419 million dollars still remains.

Hidrogradnja went bankrupt at the end of 2016 due to huge losses in the company. Hidrogradnja owes around one hundred million BAM for contributions, salaries, and other obligations for about 700 company workers, which includes other debts... The workers of this company have not been working for some time.
