Public Debate: State Representatives to Comment on Sutorina

With a large number of participants, a Public Debate on the status of Sutorina was held today at the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH), organized by the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of PA BiH, in accordance with the conclusion of the House of Representatives of PA BiH, and regarding the Resolution Proposal on Sutorina, proposed by MP Denis Bećirović, reports the Patria News Agency.

According to the Resolution Proposal, the Draft Treaty on State Border between BiH and Montenegro, determined by the Council of Ministers of BiH in early November 2014, according to which Sutorina should permanently remain in Montenegro by the will of the state bodies of BiH, is assessed as unacceptable, unfounded, and harmful.

Also, the Resolution Proposal calls on the House of Representatives of PA BiH to reject the current Draft Treaty on State Border, and to return it to the Council of Ministers of BiH for reconsideration.

Members of PA BiH, representatives of the Presidency of BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH – State Border Commission, the Ministry of Justice of BiH, and the Constitutional Court of BiH participated in the public debate.

Legal experts from universities in BiH, representatives of citizens, as well as all others interested in contributing to the debate on the status of Sutorina also participated in the meeting.

The transcript of the public debate, as well as proposals and suggestions submitted to the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives of PA BiH within the deadline, will be forwarded to the House of Representatives of PA BiH for consideration, it was announced from the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
