Jasmin Bučo the new Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton?

Interviews were held yesterday with four candidates for the mandate-holder for the new composition of the Government of Sarajevo Canton. After the talks and summing up the proposals received from the field, the Personnel Committee decided on two candidates who made it to the shortlist, writes the Patria news agency. 

Jasmin Bučo, one of the executive directors at JP Autoceste FBiH, had six votes, while Dino Konaković, head of the SDA Caucus in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, had five votes out of the 11 members of the Personnel Committee. Adem Zolj and Muharem Šabić were eliminated from the race. 

According to information obtained by Patria from the Sarajevo Canton Board of SDA, Jasmin Bučo has a better chance of becoming the new Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, as he has one more vote and the support of the KO SDA leadership headed by Denis Zvizdić. The final proposal of the Personnel Committee will be confirmed by the Executive Board of KO SDA Sarajevo, and then by the SDA Presidency. 

Dr. Jasmin Bučo was born in 1979 in Čajniče. He obtained his master's degree in France and completed his postgraduate studies in Great Britain. He earned his doctorate in civil engineering in 2007 in France. 

He worked as a civil engineer in the Bouygues Construction group, as a civil infrastructure expert at RTE EDF (i.e. Elektroprenos) in France, in the Federal Ministry of Spatial Planning, and since 2011 he has held the position of Executive Director for Design and Construction at JP Autoceste FBiH.

He is married and the father of two children. He speaks English and French fluently.
