Janković: I consider Sarajevo my own, Skaka deserves great respect

(Patria) - At the initiative of Mayor Abdulah Skaka, city councilors today declared the esteemed Mayor of Ljubljana, Zoran Janković, an “Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo”. In an interview for Sarajevo.ba, Janković does not hide his love and attachment to the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina:

“I have many times before not only said, but also shown how much I love Sarajevo, and I hope that Sarajevo loves me too. Proof of this is today's recognition by which I become an 'Honorary Citizen', for which I am grateful,” he told us at the very beginning of the interview and added:

“If I were a musician and sang, it would first be in the notes of Kemal Monteno's song 'Sarajevo, my love'.

"The love between Sarajevo and me began on December 1, 2000, when we opened the first Mercator center in Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, at whose opening performed Vlado Kreslin, Kemal Monteno, Oliver Dragojević and Đorđe Balašević," he recalls.
