Radača Pit: Remains of Victims Found, Including Three Members of the Army of RBiH from Vranica?

Authorized officials, carrying out an exhumation at the Radača pit near Mostar under the order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, have found remains at a depth of about 50 meters, reports the Patria News Agency.

More bones and remains have been found, including skull bones, jaws, and other human remains. The remains will be sent for further identification and forensic processing to determine the identity of the individuals to whom they belong.

Under the order of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, an exhumation has been ongoing at the Radača pit for a considerable period, as there is information that the pit contains the remains of a larger number of victims of Serb and Bosniak nationality, who perished in '92, '93, and '95.

The work on this exhumation is hampered by the terrain conditions, as it is an extremely deep natural pit, into which, according to collected evidence, the bodies of victims were thrown. The remains are at a great depth, covered with soil and concrete. The search is also hindered by the presence of unexploded ordnance, making it a very difficult location for the exhumation process, which also involves alpinist teams from police agencies.

Prosecutors and expert associates from the Special Department for War Crimes have spent over 100 days on site coordinating the exhumation process in all weather conditions.

The exhumation process, coordinated by a prosecutor from the Special Department for War Crimes, and involving representatives of missing persons institutions, a forensic doctor, and representatives of police agencies, is continuing intensively, it was announced from the BiH Prosecutor's Office.

The Radača pit is also linked to the case better known as "Vranica," specifically the capture of 13 members of the Army of BiH in the Command of the 4th Corps in May 1993, who were shown alive on HTV, after which all trace of them was lost.

The remains of ten of those 13 bodies were found in previous years in two nearby pits, and Radača could be one of the locations where the remains of the remaining individuals are located.
