Severe storm hit Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, gale-force winds uprooted trees

A strong storm and severe weather hit the region this afternoon, with hail falling in Split, and gale-force winds blowing in Novi Sad and other parts of Vojvodina. Damages are still being tallied.

The Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia also issued an urgent warning stating that a frontal zone will move eastward across Banat, Belgrade, and western Serbia in the afternoon hours, causing strong and gale-force winds in some places.

Within just ten minutes, the sky over Novi Sad and Belgrade completely darkened, and an extremely strong wind began to blow, carrying everything in its path. The storm was so strong that it overturned containers and uprooted trees.

Rain, downpours, thunderstorms, and strong gale-force winds are already causing serious problems in Croatia. Bosnia and Herzegovina fared slightly better, although strong winds broke trees. Material damage was caused to several cars.
