Strong earthquake in Split, tremors felt in Sarajevo as well

The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute, Seismology Centre, confirmed for Patria that around 1:57 PM, a strong earthquake was recorded in Croatia, specifically with the epicenter somewhere around Split, and due to its intensity, ground tremors were even felt in Sarajevo, writes Patria.

- The earthquake measured 5 on the Richter scale, or 7 on the Mercalli scale, which is quite strong. That's why citizens in BiH also felt the tremor - say the FHMZ.

According to information from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the earthquake measured 5 on the Richter scale, with the epicenter located in the Adriatic Sea at a depth of two kilometers, 16 kilometers northwest of Split.

Croatian media report that the residents of Split were surprised and alarmed by the earthquake, which was also felt in Trogir.
