The Wretchedness and Misery of the Prijedor Violent 'Performance'

Every now and then, something reminds us how dangerous and ruthless a moral wretch and coward can be when faced with someone who cannot defend themselves. Location – Prijedor; time – our present day; perpetrator – some wretch, who thought he would be a tough guy if he abused a man who could not resist him, and if he also recorded it as proof of his „heroism“. 

These painful and wretched scenes of force, which spread across Bosnia and Herzegovina, irresistibly reminded us of wartime. Back then, all sorts of moral zeros, wretches and cowards seized the moment to prove themselves by taking it out on powerless people, pretending to be some kind of heroes who supposedly inspire fear and terror, enjoying the fear of others. That is how we got various war criminals, who never showed their supposed heroism – just look at the court proceedings – where true courage was really needed. They showed it against the weak, the powerless, the imprisoned, the elderly, the unarmed, against people in camps – in a word, against all those they were sure could not defend themselves. Their reign of fear and terror sometimes lasted for months, until the moment they realised that the balance, in which they were absolute masters of life and death, could change. If any danger threatened them in any way, they would disappear without a trace, hiding in holes, making themselves smaller than a poppy seed. They would return to what they truly are – wretches, well aware that they are the lowest of the low. 

It would be very interesting to peek into the record written by police inspectors interrogating that human abomination, they say his name is Renato Marjanović. They probably interrogated him in the line of duty, so they missed the fact that this is a man frustrated by the fact that he is a nobody and nothing, and that his entire life has been just that. Perhaps they also failed to notice that this creature has a dramatically narrow outlook because he has spent his entire life within a few hundred square metres and does not know what the world looks like beyond the view from his dirty, greasy window – because only such unfulfilled and uncouth primitives can behave this way. Who knows whether their professional approach established that this is one of those types who typically carry a great trauma of being useless and incapable of anything human, of being unnoticed by anyone, of being kept at a distance by people, of being well known by their surroundings as ordinary moral scum, who through violence – because they are incapable of anything else – try to draw attention to themselves. 

A good psychologist or psychiatrist would have plenty to observe watching that useless degenerate. Right from the start, they would realise that this is a typical product of a vile time in which these generations grew up. Someone produced them to be violent and destructive, with no sense of anything useful or human. They were taught the mentality of the herd and the pack, without which they cannot, do not know how to, must not, and dare not take a single step. A good expert would not fail to note that such characters do not go beyond a typically animalistic urge – to use force only where they are stronger and where they do not sense danger, and to stick to the territory they have „marked“ because they do not know how to live or behave outside that narrow circle, and what would they do outside it anyway? 

Well, we witnessed a primitive and violent performance, as wretched as can be. It would be quite interesting to see that wretch and his heroism somewhere in Zenica or Kalesija, where people know what guts and character are, and for him to try to pull off his stunt there. Only when he does that should he be loudly recognised as a hero. But like this, he will remain an ordinary p..., who thought he could cheaply play the hero, wretchedly and cowardly, where he knows no one will slap him and turn him over like a frog.
