Stronger earthquake near Petrinja, felt in numerous BiH cities

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A new earthquake registered in Croatia, in the Petrinja area, in the morning hours was also felt in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to EMSC data - ground tremors were recorded in several BiH cities, Velika Kladuša, Cazin, Bihać, Banja Luka and Bosanska Krupa, as well as Livno.

"The couch shook," is a testimony from Velika Kladuša.

"It was felt in Cazin";

"My apartment started to shake," wrote a user from Bosanska Krupa.

"Stronger tremors in Bihać";

"It was felt a lot but briefly," wrote a user from the village of Orguz near Livno.

"Banja Luka was shaking," testimonies were published on EMSC.

Preliminary assessment by seismologists indicates it was magnitude 4.0 on the Richter scale with the epicenter near Petrinja.

This is one of a series of aftershocks following the devastating earthquake that hit Banija on December 29 last year. It is expected, and the series of ground tremors will continue, seismologist Ivan Sović told N1.

EMSC reports that the earthquake was magnitude 4.3. As we learned, Izidor Kršnjavih elementary school in Zagreb evacuated its students after this earthquake. Fortunately, there is no damage to the school and everyone is fine.
