“Ja, mahaluša” in seven Swedish cities from 14 October to 1 November

The cult Bosnian-Herzegovinian comedy “Ja, mahaluša” will tour seven Swedish cities from 14 October to 1 November, Indira Kučuk-Sorguč, author of the book of the same name on which the play is based, told the Patria agency.

- The play has been performed more than 120 times, and we received an invitation from the National Theatre of Sweden, which organises very serious tours. We are honoured to have received this invitation as the most successful BH play, especially given the fact that it is a respected theatre that includes only the best plays in the world in its tour performances – said Kučuk-Sorguč.

As Kučuk-Sorguč stated, according to the data they received from Riksteatern, all capacities are already full, and there is a possibility of additional performances.

The Sarajevo audience will have the opportunity to see this play at the Chamber Theatre 55, before it goes on tour.

- After Sweden, there is a possibility of going to Dubai, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium. I hope that by the spring of next year we will arrange that. I am also preparing a new play, and its premiere should take place by the end of the year, thus rounding off these four years of mahalanje – said Kučuk-Sorguč.

A trip to Croatia is planned for November, where around 15 performances have already been held. “Ja, mahaluša” was also presented to audiences in Australia in May, and offers for guest performances are coming from all over the world, Patria writes. The main roles are played by Nela Đenisijević and Nenad Tešić, while the director is Mirela Trepanić.
