Body of fourth miner recovered

Members of the rescue company from the Kreka mine have recovered the bodies of two deceased miners from the Raspotočje pit of the Zenica Brown Coal Mine, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria. At 8:40 PM, the body of the third miner, Fahir Halač, was recovered, while the extraction of the fourth miner, Hajrudin Bradarac, took place around midnight, as further ground tremors made it unsafe for rescuers.

The bodies of miners Mehemed Dizdarević and Mehmedalija Halilović were identified by family members. The remaining two tragically killed miners are Hajrudin Bradarac and Fahir Halač, also identified by their families.

The fifth victim, Fejzo Isaković, was located one hundred meters from the others at the time of the accident, but rescuers have also begun recovering his body. As can be seen at the scene, an operation to extract the body of the unfortunate Isaković has commenced.

We remind you that after the rescue operation in the Raspotočje pit, 29 miners came out, while five died. As stated today by Nuraga Duranović, the chief mining inspector of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the micro-location of the body of Fejzo Isaković, the "pump operator," the fifth miner, is known, and his evacuation is planned for Sunday. It has also been confirmed that the death of these miners was caused by poisoning from methane and carbon dioxide. The surviving miners told the media that they also lost consciousness but managed to hold on.
