Scouts from Ilidža and Stolac spent winter on Igman

IGMAN, (Patria) - That free time and vacation days can be spent meaningfully and with purpose is proven by another winter camp for young scouts from the Scout Detachment "Igman 92". As in the past ten years, SD "Igman 92" from Ilidža started the year by going to winter camp. This year, the location where they stayed was the mountain lodge "Prijatelj prirode" (Friend of Nature) at Mali polje. The winter camp was organized from January 5 to 15, 2020, and gathered 100 male and female scouts from the municipality of Ilidža.

In addition to the members of SD "Igman 92", scouts from the Scout Detachment "Bregava" Stolac also participated in the winter camp, which provided an even greater opportunity for young people to get to know each other better, socialize, and exchange knowledge and experiences.

Scouts aged 12 to 15, through two shifts of the winter camp, had the opportunity to escape smog-ridden Sarajevo and embark on a new scouting adventure. This year, they experienced the scouting program in a slightly different way – through the symbolism of the Viking world. Namely, divided into 4 Viking clans, the young people learned about Viking culture and customs through presentations, games, competitions, and practical application of knowledge. They were guided through the theme by long-time scout instructors, with whom they experienced the charms of scouting, made new friends, stayed in nature with fresh mountain air, learned many new useful life and scouting skills, and forever etched many beautiful memories in their hearts.

This was an opportunity for young people to escape the city smog at an altitude of 1246 meters and spend days in the mountains enjoying the clean air in a healthy atmosphere that every young person needs.
