Ivanić's Surprising Support: Republika Srpska Has the Right to a Referendum

Member of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić, one of the opposition leaders to Milorad Dodik in Republika Srpska, surprisingly assessed that Republika Srpska has the right to a referendum, adding however that it was not the happiest decision to call it on judiciary of BiH, which has led to condemnations from the international community, reports the Patria News Agency.

- This referendum is not the happiest, nor was the best question chosen, but Republika Srpska has the right to a referendum and challenging that right is wrong, Ivanić told Press RS.

He added that he would not organize such a referendum on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH and expressed hope that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, will find a solution so that the referendum is not held.

Answering the question of whether he will attend the meeting with President Milorad Dodik, announced for Friday, Ivanić said that he can meet with Dodik only as a member of the BiH Presidency, but not as the president of PDP and one of the leaders of the Alliance for Changes led by SDS, because that is the joint decision of that alliance.
