
(Patria) - On the slopes of Oblj above the village of Umoljani, a rescue operation for a group of seven foreign nationals from Australia was successfully completed tonight, announced the Mountain Rescue Service of Sarajevo Canton.
As they stated, the group was provided assistance after they got lost on the mountain, and one person sustained a knee injury that prevented them from moving.
"The first call to the emergency number of the GSS of Sarajevo Canton was received from a Bosnian citizen who was in the group at 21:55, and at 22:20 the need for intervention was confirmed. Teams of the GSS of Sarajevo Canton were immediately dispatched to the field, located the group, and provided medical assistance to the injured person. After stabilization, transport was carried out over extremely challenging terrain to Gradina, and then by vehicle to Babin do, where the injured person was handed over to the Emergency Medical Team at 01:35," stated the GSS of Sarajevo Canton.
Thirty rescuers from the GSS of Sarajevo Canton participated in the operation.
"We thank all participants for their professional and swift response, and we wish the injured person a speedy recovery," concluded the announcement from the GSS of Sarajevo Canton.
