Amendments to the Excise Law proposed by SDS could secure the required majority

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a proposal from the Club of the Serbian Democratic Party (SDS) will be considered, which has submitted amendments and supplements to the Excise Law under an urgent procedure, which would repeal the law that increased tolls by 15 feninga plus VAT in December.

If the proposal is adopted, fuel prices would decrease by 18 feninga per liter or 10 KM per tank.

The SDS expects that all deputies who previously opposed the increase in excise duties, as well as those who have since realized that citizens cannot bear such price hikes, will support the initiative.

This reduction of 5 feninga is for a few days, cosmetic and pre-election, since the RS government is obviously protecting the interests of individuals from the government and the oil cartel. The SDS and SZP will do everything we can to protect the interests of citizens, just as we protected them when we fought against that unfortunate increase in excise duties, and therefore we will submit this draft law on behalf of the people,” said earlier Aleksandra Pandurević, president of the SDS Deputy Club in the PD PS BiH.

Although HDZ BiH and SDA stated that they see this proposal as a political promotion of one party, it is not excluded that this proposal will be adopted, given that there has been no stable parliamentary majority for a long time, and the fact that the original Excise Law was adopted by a narrow majority, and only after it had been rejected four times previously.
