(Patria) - The House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina voted with 27 votes in favor to adopt the urgent procedure for the Proposal on Amendments to the Election Law, which was submitted to the parliamentary procedure by the SDA.
Šerif Špago, head of the SDA Club, said that it is about the introduction of new technologies.
"This is necessary to have fair and honest elections, and not to use counters to manipulate the electoral will. The first step that must be taken for this to be in place for the General Elections in 2026 is to change the Election Law and secure financial resources. This would restore citizens' trust in elections, and likely increase turnout," said Špago.
When it comes to the introduction of scanners, it does not change the voting method, but it prevents manipulation.
"The scanner will scan the ballot paper. Also, it will be possible to monitor voter turnout in real time," said Špago.
