Amendments to the Law on Civil Service in BiH Institutions are not European, but Party-Driven

Written for NAP by: Muamer Bandić, member of the BiH Social Democratic Front Presidency and MP in the KS Assembly

While our young experts are leaving, while the workforce in the prime of their lives, which could be the driver of our country's economic development, is leaving, Bosnia and Herzegovina is becoming a paradise for pensioners.

However, not in a way that the imposed government creates a system where our pensioners can live off their hard-earned pensions, but quite paradoxically, because the new amendments to the Law on Civil Service in BiH Institutions allow heads of institutions to hire pensioners as advisors.

What can be said and what message can be sent, other than that we are facing the employment of proven party fossils, who are largely responsible for the years of stagnation in our society, at the state's expense.

It seems that the state House of Peoples is not sufficiently capacitated for these needs, so capacities are being expertly expanded for the continuation of the vampire ball. To make the paradox even greater, at a time when all countries in the world are protecting their labor markets and their workers, our leaders will have the luxury of hiring advisors who are not citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Thanks to these latest amendments, which they are lying to us about being European, we can only expect an even greater outflow of educated young people from our country, and an influx of various obscure figures from neighboring countries into different state institutions.

History has already shown us that horses can become senators, and this government is skillfully trying to extend their activities to advisory roles as well. While we can somehow find a rational justification for the first two misdeeds, the third is simply the pinnacle of making the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina fools.

Namely, the "European" Amendments even allow the hiring of advisors without higher education. In practice, this means that our ministers can be advised by high school or even elementary school students. Is there a better option for employing the children of party colleagues and those deserving of a place on the state budget?!

After these Amendments, there is no need to talk about the "American dream" anymore, because there is no better country in the world than BiH, where you can become something from nothing in a short period, and all you need is to know the right people and be in the right party.

When they came to power, the new government promised us changes and a better life. However, it seems they skipped an important part: that these changes only apply to the genetically selected.

Whether we open negotiations with the EU or not, it is already known who will fare better in this suffering and broken country. Only a narrow circle of the privileged, close to the ruling caste.
