Construction of the University Library in Sarajevo in the final phase

(Patria) - Work on the construction of the University Library in the Campus of the University of Sarajevo, the largest investment project in science in the last three decades, is entering its final phase.

Concrete works are currently being finalized, while the completion of all construction works is planned for March this year. The move into the facility and the official start of the library's operation are expected in 2026.



The new library, spanning over 7,000 square meters, will include modern reading rooms, multimedia rooms, digital archives, and spaces for conferences and research activities.

Special attention has been paid to equipping it with state-of-the-art technology and adapting it to the needs of persons with disabilities.



- The University Library in the UNSA Campus will not just be a building, but a symbol of our commitment to education, science, and innovation.

This project is of key importance for strengthening the academic community and will provide students and researchers from all over BiH with modern conditions for work and progress - said the Prime Minister of KS Nihad Uk after visiting the construction site, which was also attended by the Rector of UNSA, Prof. Dr. Tarik Zaimović.



The library is expected to become a central place for scientific and research activities, improving cooperation between universities, the domestic academic community, and international partners, as well as a key point for promoting scientific achievements and innovations.
