Construction of a tourist city in Trnovo

In the large hall of the Centar Municipality on February 2, 2015, a protocol on cooperation was signed between the Municipality of Trnovo and the company Buroj Property Development from the United Arab Emirates, which formalized the implementation of the integrated tourist city project "Buroj Ozone" in the area of Trnovo.

The signing of the protocol was attended by the Mayor of Centar Municipality Dževad Bećirević, representatives of the Sarajevo Canton, and the Mayor of Trnovo Municipality Akif Fazlić.

"Buroj Ozone" in Trnovo will contain thousands of residential units, hotels, shopping centers, as well as all other social infrastructure. The realization of this project will not only bring direct income for BiH tourism but also employment opportunities and thousands of new jobs.

The total value of the project is, as stated, around 4.5 billion KM. The Mayor of Trnovo Municipality Ibro Berilo emphasized that a tourist complex will be built in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time, which, by its size and investment value, will represent the largest project of its kind in the Southeast European region and beyond.

- I think this is the largest investment in BiH after the war. This is a historic day for the Municipality of Trnovo and means a lot not only for the development of Trnovo but also for the Sarajevo Canton and the entire BiH. Through the realization of this project, the municipality of Trnovo will be able to match the development of the Centar municipality - stated Berilo.

Ismail Ahmed, director of Buroj, expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian side, and emphasized that the signing of this protocol is only the first step towards building a partnership. He explained that Buroj Property Development is a leading company for urban development and that it wants to become a strong partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina in developing the huge tourism potential it has.
- Your country with its riches is full of potential, and we have come here to work with the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina as partners in order to ensure profit and benefits from our joint project. When the diplomatic representatives of BiH in the United Arab Emirates invited us to come here, we were not sure what to expect. Today I am very happy to be in Sarajevo and I hope to become a regular guest in your country - said Ismail Ahmed.
