Construction of UNSA Library Enters Final Phase of Interior Finishing

(Patria) - The construction of the new University of Sarajevo Library, one of the most significant projects for the academic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is proceeding according to plan.

With the arrival of spring and the completion of key external works on the roof and glass facade, the focus has completely shifted to the interior finishing and equipping of the building, so that this symbol of knowledge can open its doors as soon as possible.



Intensive work is currently underway on finalizing the interior spaces, including the installation of partition walls and ceilings in the administrative area, while reading rooms are taking their final shape with floor preparation and interior finishing.

Special attention is paid to the building's basement, where preparations for the installation of modern, compact shelving in the depots intended for the preservation of valuable book collections are nearing completion.

The entire interior space is being equipped in parallel with modern heating, cooling, and digital infrastructure systems.

The fact that this is an extremely extensive undertaking is confirmed by the data that more than 120 workers and engineers are engaged daily at the construction site, ensuring that every detail is executed to the highest global standards.

He emphasizes that the Library will be equipped with specially designed depots for the preservation of rare materials, and that it is particularly important that this project is being realized with stable dynamics after years of delays.

This impressive facility, spanning over 7,000 square meters, is the first in a series of planned projects that will transform the former barracks area into a modern, integrated university campus.

In addition to state-of-the-art reading rooms and digital archives, the building will be fully accessible to people with disabilities, thereby confirming the Government of Sarajevo Canton's commitment to creating an inclusive and progressive educational environment.
