Water supply network built and asphalt laid

 

The project of reconstructing the water supply network in Zije Dizdarevića Street, for which the Municipality of Centar Sarajevo allocated more than a hundred thousand marks from the 2015 budget at the initiative of the residents of MZ Betanija – Šip, is nearing completion, reports the Patria News Agency. 

This involves the repair of two sections of the street, 380 meters in length. One section extends from Zije Dizdarevića Street 2 to the junction with Dejzina Bikića Street. The length of the route in this part is about 250 meters. The second section of Zije Dizdarevića Street is located between numbers 62 and 74, and is about 130 meters long.

The contractor is the construction company "Grakop" d.o.o. Kiseljak, and the supervision is carried out by the company "Coning" d.o.o. Sarajevo. The laying of the water supply network and the connection of facilities are being done by KJKP "Vodovod i kanalizacija".

Works on the section of Zije Dizdarevića Street from number 2 to the junction with Dejzina Bikića Street have been fully completed. The old asphalt and road structure have been removed in this part of the street. A new water supply network has been laid, and residential buildings have been connected to the network, after which the road was asphalted.

Residents of this street said that the implementation of this project has resolved one of the most pressing issues in the Šip settlement.

- The biggest problem was the dilapidated water and sewage pipes that were bursting, and we reported a malfunction almost every month. Thank you for enabling us to finally have normal access to our homes, stated resident Ferida Bezdrob.

 According to Irhad Čovrk, president of the MZ Betanija – Šip council, this is a project that means a lot to the residents of this local community.

- We have had problems with old sewage and installations for the past seven years. Thanks to the mayor Dževad Bećirević and the chairman of the Centar Sarajevo Municipal Council Nedžad Ajnadžić, we managed to get approval and complete the works in this part of the street, Čovrk emphasized.

Works are also proceeding according to plan in the second section. In this part of the street, ballast is currently being laid, after which asphalting will follow, announced the Municipality of Centar.
