Izetbegović: Convincing victory in TK and huge public trust an additional obligation for the rejuvenated SDA team

(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović held a working meeting today in Tuzla with members of the Cantonal Board of SDA TK, mayors of cities and municipalities, and elected SDA officials at the cantonal, federal, and state levels.

During the discussion, it was assessed that the current political and economic situation in the most populous canton is stable thanks to the processes led by SDA with its coalition partners.

Special attention was paid to the analysis of the Local Elections results. Izetbegović expressed satisfaction with the uniform growth of SDA's votes by an average of 20 percent throughout FBiH.

- SDA has once again confirmed that it is convincingly the strongest party of the pro-Bosnian bloc and that it is the people's choice, just as our election slogan stated.

We won almost 260,000 votes in FBiH, increased the number of mayors and councilors, and in the total sum of votes, we are almost two and a half times stronger than the second and third parties in FBiH - SDP and HDZ.

For example, SDA alone won 53,000 more votes than all the parties of the 'Trojka' combined - Izetbegović stated.

SDA achieved a special success, as he said, in the Tuzla Canton, where it won eight out of 13 mayoral positions, and increased the number of mandates in city/municipal councils from 98 to 131.

The number of votes that SDA wins in the Tuzla Canton in local and general elections has been constantly growing in the last three election cycles, and it has increased by 14,000 in four years, despite a reduced turnout.

Izetbegović congratulated the leadership of KO SDA TK, headed by Šekib Umihanić, the municipal boards, the newly elected mayors and councilors, and the entire rejuvenated party structure on an exceptional election result.

It was jointly assessed that the great trust of the voters also brings greater responsibility, and that in this regard, communication and work with citizens in the field should be further intensified.

During his stay in the Tuzla Canton, Izetbegović, accompanied by SDA Vice President Muamer Zukić, also visited the Municipal Board of SDA Kladanj, taking the opportunity to congratulate Kladanj Mayor Edis Šarić on his victory.
