Izetbegović: We are entering quicksand, these policies must be stopped

(Patria) - Leader of SDA Bakir Izetbegović spoke tonight on the show "7 PLUS" on Hayat television about the current political situation in BiH, the announced Resolution on Srebrenica, which has caused real turmoil in Serbia and the RS entity.

- I don't believe they all regret that we are in this situation. Dodik is producing this situation, I wouldn't say he cares about BiH's European path.

I wouldn't say they can agree on anything - said Izetbegović, commenting on yesterday's meeting in Istočno Sarajevo, after which an attempt to reach an agreement on the BiH Election Law was announced.

The SDA leader adds that it was a bit sad to see what was happening.

- I don't believe the Trojka can deliver some things even if they wanted to. An attack on the OHR, which Dodik is demanding ultimatively - says Izetbegović.

He believes that the Trojka will not give in further due to the upcoming elections and will try to improve their image, which has been significantly tarnished.

- This is a dead end, the policy Dodik is pursuing. But he persists in it, he wins elections. The RS entity is getting older, he is slowly leading it to isolation, where young people are leaving, not going to Russia but to the West.

He cannot get out of that framework. They are leading us into quicksand. People like to be lied to, that there was no genocide, but there is no healing from lies. We are heading towards a crescendo. These policies must be stopped, I think they will be stopped - adds Izetbegović.

He also spoke about the proposed Resolution on the Srebrenica genocide and the stormy reactions in the RS and Serbia.

- They know what the truth is, but they don't want to accept it. These were ethnic cleansings that culminated in the genocide in Srebrenica. They paid Gideon, a historian, to offer a truth that would please them, and they adopted it in the NSRS.

On the other hand, we have serious work by international courts where professionals have heard thousands of witnesses and established the truth about the genocide. And they gave money to a man to write what they expect from him.

These policies have led the Serbian people to NATO strikes, to the loss of Kosovo, to the Hague Tribunal where their military and political leadership ended up - stated Izetbegović.

He also commented on the latest messages from Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.

- Vučić, as they say, changed his coat for a while, but we see that he did not change his nature. We see the old Vučić, who behaves aggressively and chauvinistically - stated Izetbegović.

He also notes that Bosniaks in Srebrenica need to organize themselves better, as they are not united.

Speaking about American sanctions, he said that we are part of the Western world and a very strong banking sector, and that no improvisations will be possible in BiH.

- Those who come under the political attack of Western forces will come under financial attack - added Izetbegović in an interview with Hayat television.
