Izetbegović removes Osmanović and appoints his advisor Ramić!

The Vice-President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović continues his purge of cadres close to President Sulejman Tihić, the BH news agency Patria (NAP) has learned.

Namely, Izetbegović, as confirmed to us by multiple sources, has removed Adil Osmanović, Vice-President of SDA, from the compensatory election list in the "Domovina" coalition. Instead, Edin Ramić, Izetbegović's advisor in the cabinet of the Presidency of BiH, has been placed on the compensatory list.

Almir Salihović, coordinator of the "1. mart" coalition, which led the agreements on the joint appearance of parties from FBiH in the elections in the smaller BiH entity, confirmed to us that Osmanović is not on the compensatory list, but Ramić is.

According to unofficial information, although it was previously agreed that Osmanović would be on the compensatory list, a change was made at the last moment, and Vinko Jakić, legal representative of the Domovina coalition, submitted a list to the Central Election Commission with Ramić instead of Osmanović.

Otherwise, SDA Vice-President Osmanović, who reacted a few weeks ago along with half of the SDA presidency due to Izetbegović's arbitrariness and demanded that the party return to operating on the principles of convention and agreement, is the holder of the SDA list for the National Assembly of RS in Electoral Unit 5. However, since a small number of Bosniaks live and vote in RS, compensatory lists are sometimes more important than official ones, as they bring compensatory mandates.

Although Osmanović is an established politician who regularly won a significant number of votes, his removal from the compensatory list is effectively an attempt at his political elimination and, in particular, a reduction of his influence in SDA ahead of the party's Congress, which follows in the spring.

On the other hand, Ramić, who is close to Izetbegović, is the holder of the list for NSRS in Electoral Unit 7.

In the General Elections in 2002, he was an SDA candidate for the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RS), but was not elected – he received 1,127 votes. Two years later, with 1,180 votes, he was elected mayor of the Municipality of Osmaci. He held that position until the end of 2006, when he was recalled in a referendum, NAP reports.
