Izetbegović: The Trojka is not the choice of the people, but of foreigners; if there were early elections, they would be swept away this year

(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović addressed a press conference in Sarajevo today, discussing current political events in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Izetbegović began by commenting on the results of the recently held Local Elections in BiH, writes N1.

- The elections are over. SDA is the strongest, and more importantly, the fastest growing party. We won 285,000 votes, 12 percent more than in the previous elections.

In Republika Srpska, we ran with diverse coalitions and won 62 council seats. In Srebrenica, SDA voter support is slightly lower. And that's the case throughout Republika Srpska - said Izetbegović.

According to him, other pro-Bosnian parties are also strengthening at the expense of SDA. He emphasized that voter fatigue is felt in Srebrenica.

- We are surprised by the abstention of Bosniaks. We must not be angry with the people of Srebrenica, considering everything they have been through. It is good that they have the will to vote at all. It is up to us to help these people - Izetbegović conveyed.

He also stated that SDA had support in the flood-affected areas.

- Regarding the flood-affected areas, we received voter support. People turn to SDA when they have real problems. In Mostar, support is lower than in 2020 - Izetbegović noted.

He assessed the stance of the Trojka as worrying. And by not campaigning for mayor, Izetbegović claims, the Trojka has quietly supported the HDZ and is slowly disappearing in Herzegovina.

The SDA leader believes that the party will return stronger than ever in certain cantons.

- SDA will sooner or later achieve what it is interested in. In Sarajevo, we have suffered the most severe pressures in the last six years. It takes time to heal the consequences of that.

In the Tuzla Canton, that process has ended. SDA has returned stronger than we were. In Sarajevo, it will take more time, but the process is moving in that direction.

SDA has the best results in the last two decades. The first reason is the ability to compare what the SDA-led governments did with what the governments led by the Trojka are doing/not doing.

The second reason is new, young faces. The Trojka is not the choice of the people, but of foreigners. Let us all ask ourselves if we will be able to achieve such results. If there were early elections, the Trojka would be swept away this year - Izetbegović is convinced.

We have a buildup of debt, he added, everything left behind by Fadil Novalić has been spent.

- They have incurred a debt of one billion marks. Sarajevo Canton, which has double the budget of Tuzla Canton, is accumulating debt. The Clinical Center University of Sarajevo is falling apart and sinking into debt before our eyes. It relies on the Health Insurance Fund. They manage to spend all of that. All of this is happening within two years - Izetbegović says.

He assesses Elmedin Konaković as the most aggressive creator of the Trojka.

- The buck stops with NiP. The party that experienced a surge is experiencing a steep decline in Sarajevo Canton. The problem lies with Elmedin Konaković, he is the most aggressive creator of the Trojka.

People do not like traitors, brazen meddlers who invoke justice but do not practice it, who associate with criminals. People do not like that and it takes time for them to despise them. This has already happened to Konaković's predecessors.

He cannot function otherwise; he will continue with spins, with foolish words. He was silent in Konjic when Dodik cursed the Srebrenica genocide. He will be brave when he needs to insult his own. We will see what else he will lie about, muddy the waters, and meddle - concluded Izetbegović.
