Izetbegović: SDA is returning to its strongest positions; if the Trojka continues like this, they will be swept away in the next elections

(Patria) - SDA President Bakir Izetbegović addressed a press conference in Sarajevo this evening. He spoke about the first preliminary results of the Local Elections held today.

- As we indicated, SDA has recorded an increase in the number of votes, councilors in municipal councils, and mayors and chiefs from SDA.

We will not celebrate given the tragedy that has struck parts of BiH. Our condolences to the families of the victims - said Izetbegović, reports N1.

He reminds that SDA won 26 mayoral positions in the last Local Elections, and adds that they now have eight more.

- Of the 13 municipalities in TK, we won eight. Of the 12 in ZDK, we won in nine. We won in Hadžići and Trnovo, lost Ilijaš.

In Sarajevo municipalities, we have an increase in municipal councils. We lost Srebrenica. SDA is returning to its strongest positions - emphasizes Izetbegović.

He stresses that the Trojka coalition is an awkward government - it has shown what it knows, or rather, what it doesn't know.

- We have only underlined that. Things are clear. An awkward government that is not succeeding. What we said would happen has happened. If the Trojka continues like this, they can freely count on being swept away in the next elections.

NIP is falling, SDP can fluctuate - they will always have their voter base. NIP exploded at one point, now it is a party that is disappearing - claims Izetbegović.

He also commented on the victory of Ibri Berilo in the race for the mayor of Trnovo Municipality.

- We are witnessing that a large number of politicians have been acquitted in some processes. I don't know if it will turn out that Berilo benefited himself.

It is undeniable that he did something for his people, everything else is uncertain. We will see - concluded Izetbegović.
