Izetbegović: SDA will seek three ministries, one of which belongs to DF

Before the start of the SDA Presidency session, Sadik Ahmetović said he hopes that the teams that have already started negotiations on the distribution of ministries will successfully complete their work and that there will be no blockades, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- I think that in the next 15 days we could have formed governments (federal and state) so that we can start dealing with important issues for the well-being of BiH citizens – Ahmetović said.

He said he is not part of the negotiating team conducting negotiations with HDZ and DF. He does not know which ministries the SDA is aspiring to. However, he noted that the position for the state level is clear, and that is the position of Chairman of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

- You ask me why all parties want the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry at the federal level (FMERI) and I really don't know, but I hope that someone competent will come to that position and that this ministry will not become part of politicking.

Ahmetović emphasized that it is normal within the party to have different opinions when it comes to the distribution of ministries.

Senad Šepić, unlike Ahmetović, said that the SDA did not discuss specific ministries at the party bodies and that it is not true that they will seek the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the state level.

- The primary goal is that the most competent people perform certain functions, but we will agree with our partners as well as within the party - Šepić said.

Asim Sarajlić said that today they held talks with partners about the distribution of certain ministries, and commented on the fact that all parties want FMERI.

- Politics is the art of the possible and we have not given up on the demands of the miners from Banovići, but we will talk about it with our partners and we support the position of the citizens of Banovići and we will see what will happen in the coming period – Sarajlić said.

Bakir Izetbegović said that the SDA will seek three positions in the Council of Ministers plus the Chairman, which it already has, with one of these three positions belonging to the DF. He emphasized that among other things, they will seek the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

- Last time, the establishment of the government took 15 months, this time it will take a maximum of five. We will negotiate with our partners and we will find a compromise. I spoke with Čović (Dragan, ed.) today, and we will meet again tomorrow. We also need to hold talks with Bosić (Mladen, ed.) as well as with the DF, and then we will hold those trilateral meetings - Izetbegović said.
