Izetbegović with EPP President Manfred Weber: Latest actions by RS authorities part of a clear secession plan

(Patria) - The President of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović met today in Podgorica with the President of the European People's Party (EPP) Manfred Weber.

The meeting discussed the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the context of the RS entity authorities' attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the country's constitutional and legal order.

As announced, Izetbegović pointed out that the latest anti-Dayton and unconstitutional actions by the RS entity authorities are not just a consequence of the legal proceedings against Milorad Dodik, but are part of a clear secession plan for that part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, outlined in the SNSD Declaration from 2015 and the Declaration of the so-called "All-Serb Assembly".

The discussion focused on the cooperation and engagement of the EPP as the strongest political group in the European Union in overcoming the current security and political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, strengthening the rule of law, and continuing the country's Euro-Atlantic path.

The meeting also addressed the Russian aggression against Ukraine and its consequences on the security, economic, and energy situation in Europe, particularly in the Western Balkans region.

Izetbegović will be one of the panelists at a round table organized by the EPP today.
