Izetbegović speaks with members of the European Parliament delegation for relations with BiH

(Patria) - SDA leader Bakir Izetbegović met today with members of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting discussed European integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the obligations our country must fulfill in this process.

Representatives of the European Parliament expressed support for the continuation of BiH's path towards membership in the European Union.

It was emphasized that within the European Union, due to current geopolitical circumstances, there is a strong will for further enlargement of the Union, especially to the countries of the Western Balkans.

Special attention was paid to harmonizing the Reform Program for the Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

Izetbegović emphasized that the European Commission, in its explanation of the negative opinion on the Reform Program submitted by the Council of Ministers of BiH to Brussels, reiterated the identical objections due to which the cantonal prime ministers from SDA gave conditional consent for the adoption of that document.

Also discussed was the problem of young people leaving Bosnia and Herzegovina for European Union countries and the possibilities of slowing down and stopping this negative trend.

The meeting was attended by the head of the European Parliament delegation for relations with BiH, Davor Ivo Stier, and members Jan Peter-Warnke, Gordan Bosanac, and Stephen Nikola Bartulica.
