The initiative of the Western Balkans Friends Group was launched in 2023 by Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Slovakia, and Slovenia, with the aim of providing support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries in the region on their path to full membership in the European Union.
