The prosecution has the right to do its job, but the arrest of Fahrudin Radončić, president of SBB, has dealt a heavy blow to the coalition and the reforms initiated, said Bakir Izetbegović, president of SDA after a meeting of the delegations of these two parties, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
- We are both committed to the coalition and we hope that Radončić will be released so that we can continue the reform path together – said Izetbegović.
Mirsad Đonlagić, vice-president of SBB, told reporters that the recent circumstances following Radončić's arrest have endangered the Bosniak people and their future.
- This was done by someone who benefits from this entire situation. We have the impression that this is not about judicial independence, but someone's game, which time will tell – said Đonlagić.
Đonlagić said that they are committed to contributing maximally to stabilizing the situation, and they expect Radončić to defend himself from freedom.
Izetbegović said that Radončić's contribution is significant and he deserves to defend himself from freedom.
When asked by reporters whether high-ranking SDA members Aljoša Čampara and Asim Sarajlić could be linked to Radončić's arrest, Izetbegović said that he learned about it from the media.
- If this turns out to be true, then they have violated party discipline. We wholeheartedly embarked on this coalition, and all 114 members of the Main Board, and it would be unfair to undermine this coalition, and I don't see how SDA members could have done this, nor how it can be proven – said Izetbegović.
On the other hand, Đonlagić did not want to name names, but said that they were mentioned in the media in that context.
- These are names that are unavoidable when discussing this situation – said Đonlagić.
Izetbegović, responding to a reporter's question about the appointment of Nermana Hadžijahić as BiH ambassador to Slovenia, said that she was indeed proposed by Fahrudin Radončić.
- My request was that it be someone professional, someone with a reputation, and he proposed that candidate. It was not connected to this case in any way; I learned about it from the media. The woman who was appointed works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs – said Izetbegović.
