Izetbegović: Radončić informed me about the meeting with Čović

Bakir Izetbegović, the president of SDA, told reporters today before the Collegium session that he knows about the meeting between the presidents of SBB and HDZ BiH, Fahrudin Radončić and Dragan Čović, because Radončić informed him a few days ago, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- They will have their meeting, and I have mine in SDA. We will keep in touch and work on overcoming the misunderstandings that existed among the parties, and moving forward towards stabilizing the situation – Izetbegović emphasized. I believe that the relationship between SDA, SBB and HDZ BiH is very important and that we need to overcome some emotions and continue working on stabilizing the coalition and the situation in the Federation of BiH - said Izetbegović.

Čović will meet with Radončić tonight in Mostar, while Izetbegović and Čović have not had any meeting since July 29. After Izetbegović held a meeting with Milorad Dodik in East Sarajevo on July 31, where an agreement was reached on the Coordination Mechanism and the Letter of Intent to the IMF was signed, Čović sent strong messages stating that he was deceived and that Izetbegović did not respect the agreement.

An attempt to hold a meeting between Čović and Izetbegović in Konjic a few days later failed because Čović did not show up. To Izetbegović, who waited for him for 40 minutes, he said it was a misunderstanding.

Whether Fahrudin Radončić will be the one to reconcile the other two coalition partners, or whether it is all a well-thought-out scenario, will be seen in the coming days.
