Izetbegović tells Čović: Compromise or you will get nothing

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - SDA President and Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović said from Luxembourg, from the town of Wiltz, that if the HDZ BiH is not ready for a compromise, it will get nothing.

Izetbegović singled out the secessionist policies led by the SNSD, stating that such policies threaten peace and stability in BiH.

“The harmfulness of that policy is terrible. It has ruined the destinies of hundreds of thousands of young people who left the country, especially the RS. Dodik cannot win. He can lead us into some kind of limbo, a crisis, but he cannot win,” Izetbegović said.

He added that the SNSD and HDZ BiH reduce the entire pro-Bosnian bloc, which holds 60 percent of the votes in the BiH Parliament, to an imaginary “Bosniak quota” of 33 percent.

Speaking about amendments to the Constitution and electoral legislation, Izetbegović reiterated that it is necessary to change the powers and competencies of the House of Peoples, and that the issue of electing members of the BiH Presidency can also be resolved.

“If the HDZ is not ready for a compromise, then it will get nothing,” Izetbegović said.

In recent days, Izetbegović visited several cities where he met with the Bosnian diaspora, calling on them to register and vote in the General Elections, especially in the RS, where pro-Bosnian parties will offer a unified joint list.

“We need 80,000 votes in the RS to get 10 or 12 seats in the National Assembly of the RS. When we do that, then it’s a different story in BiH. That’s one day in four years. Vote for whomever you want, but vote for those who love BiH,” Izetbegović said.
